The heat didn't bother Angelica much, but she felt bad for the horses when temperatures got above 90. Hence today she'd hooked up a hose so she could give them all a shower so they could cool down a little. This was followed by apples and sugar cubes, of course.

After returning to her room to change clothes after Art Therapy and all the chalky mess, Angelica headed into work at the Gig. Since the weather was a little cooler today, she decided to take the horses all out for some exercise, starting with Smudge who seemed the most antsy about getting a good run in.

It was cool out for a change -- so far -- so Angelica was taking advantage of the lack of sweltering heat to take each of the horses for a run. She didn't quite trust the heat not to come back and/or a thunderstorm keeping the horses stuck in the stables for the afternoon.

Angelica really wasn't sure what to make of the two angry calves in the stable when she arrived that afternoon. Maybe Dani had gotten some new animals? She tried to sooth the cranky beasts but they just snapped at her hands, so she left them some food and gave her attention to the horses, who were far more appreciative.

It was a very sad Angelica at the Gig today as she said her goodbyes to the horses. The stables at the Massachusetts Academy had been closed since the fire and Butter Rum's death, so there were no horses there now. Maybe she could convince Emma to bring them back given how she'd taken care of the horses at the Gig ( Read more... )

Angelica had reappeared Sunday exactly where she'd vanished from: the stables at the Gig, attempting to lead Duke out to join the other horses so she could get them all to the safety of the school stables.
